Gracefully Broken

“I see my beautiful, broken child. A beautiful daughter, son, mother, father, sister, brother, friend – who is striving, working, trying, stressed, pressured, performing, breaking and exhausted. I see my child who cares more about their portrayal than the precious life I have given them. I see the gold, the beauty, the treasures, the gems that I have placed with in them, but they are hidden down way below the surface. Hidden below layers of performance and perfection. Hidden under insecurities. Hidden under feelings of inadequacy and failure.  I see the truth amongst the lies. I see the gold. I see what I’ve placed within. I see the heart that truly wants these things – but the noise on the outside is so loud, they can’t hear the stillness calling to their soul on the inside.

The noise on the outside is so loud, they can’t hear the stillness calling to their soul on the inside

Their soul needs rest. They need to rest in me. Take time off from the world, the race, the platform, the competition, the comparison, rest and relax in me. Not just for a time of restoration, but for a completely new restart. A new life. A new future. A new way forward. I have brought them to the end of themselves to discover me. To find me. I’ve been here all along.

I have wrestled with them already. I have fought FOR then and when I tried to hand over the blessing and the booty and loot, they fought me from giving it to them. I have tried to deliver freedom, identity, security, keys, blessings – but just as immature children think they know better than their parent, so too have they thought they knew best. They didn’t see the treasure for the gift that it was, because they had no value for it. It wasn’t worth anything to them, because their eyes were on the glitter and sparkle of the world. Their heart was on another prize and their mind was in a different race. I have already wrestled with them. And boy did they wrestle with me! They have put up the fight of their life, and it has cost them their life. It has cost them some of the greatest years of their life. But by my grace, I protect, hide, deliver, redeem and restore. It is not lost. They have paid the price and now is the time to arise.

They didn’t see the treasure for the gift that it was, because they had no value for it

I reach down to them – broken, bruised and battered, lying desolate and destroyed, in the dust. I reach down to my broken, wounded, exhausted and defeated child, and now I lift them up. With my arm, in my strength and infuse them with all they need to live life my way. They have wrestled. They have been broken. And now they accept defeat. They see it for what it really is. They see the battlefield we have been playing on – the battlefield of lies, beliefs, thoughts of the mind, words of the mouth, feelings of the heart, competition, comparison, man’s approval, insecurity outside of me – and with this revelation they will now be restored and redeemed. Restarted. Renewed. Refreshed, but to live life my way

I see my child trying and striving so hard, but in the wrong directions, for the wrong things. Pain has come because their efforts were for the wrong people and the wrong things. Agendas, motivations, initiative, approval, fear of man and what they will think if they knew the truth. Living a lie to try and cover the reality of the truth, because the truth was too hard to bear. But the truth will set them free! And I am here for them, my precious Love, my cherished Child, to set them free! Free from the pain of the past, free from that life of lies, free from this striving and comparing.

They must rest. Rest in me from this point forward. No performance, no pressure. I take that all away. I will make my name known though them, and I will get all the glory for what I am about to do. They have put up a good fight in this wrestle for life, but now that their eyes have been unveiled – yes, through my grace and being gracefully broken – they have seen what their heart has been set on. So now they must set their heart on me.

Now they must set their heart on me

I will work with them and walk with them. I will lead them through and reboot their mind and system in a whole new way. They have been flushed and now they are emptied for me to fill. And fill them I will! I will fill them from my flowing rivers, from the throne room – real refreshing, living waters. They will know what it is to truly drink my waters for the first time, to drink and truly have their thirst quenched, because they will remain in me, and I will remain in them. Things will change. Things are changing. I am making all things new, in me and through me and for me. My mercies are new every day. Grab hold of my mercy and grab hold of me each day, each morning, each moment, for I make all things new. Surrender to me.”

I will work with them and walk with them. I will lead them through
